Multitier Licensing

CIAO Standard — Multitier Licensing Architecture

The CIAO Standard operates under a layered licence framework designed to balance open access with intellectual property protection.

1. Standard Content — Commons through Professional Tiers Content published across the Commons, Core, Essential, and Professional tiers of the CIAO Standard is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-SA 4.0). You are free to share and adapt this material for any purpose, provided you give appropriate attribution to C-AO.com and distribute any derivative works under the same licence.

2. Architectural Frameworks and Methodologies The following components are protected under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0):

— The CIAO GOV Seed Table and all associated governance equivalence mappings — The OPF, ECF, ICF, IDF, and ICU frameworks — The Document Registry mechanism and associated governance synchronisation methodology — The SHIFT-AI framework and all associated doctoral-derived methodologies

You may read and cite these components. You may not modify them, create commercial derivatives, or redistribute modified versions. All methodologies are patent pending.

3. Enterprise and Conglomerate Tier Content Content within the Enterprise and Conglomerate tiers is proprietary and governed exclusively by the CIAO Member Licence Agreement, which forms part of your membership terms. Access to this content constitutes acceptance of those terms.

4. Member-Owned Derivatives Enterprise and Conglomerate members are expressly authorised to create derivative sub-documents from tier content for use within their own organisations. Such derivatives are owned by the creating organisation. They may not be published, shared externally, or used to create competing standards.

5. Patent Pending Notice The following intellectual property is the subject of pending patent applications filed with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). Unauthorised commercial exploitation, reproduction, or reverse-engineering of any of the following is strictly prohibited.

Governance Orchestration Methodology — The CIAO Governance Orchestration Methodology, including its multi-framework normalisation engine, hierarchical governance scaling architecture, temporal registry state machine, and automated governance synchronisation system.

Proprietary Typeface System — The C-AO proprietary typeface family, including its geometric construction methodology, sensor-interference rendering architecture, and screen-capture resistance properties.

Character-Level Optical Frequency Modulation — The Blink Methodology, comprising a system for controlled character-level optical frequency modulation that interferes with photographic and video capture of screen-rendered content.

Complete Content Protection Architecture — The combined CIAO Content Protection System, comprising the Reading Zone viewport-relative rendering methodology, typographic degradation system, invisible watermarking system, and all associated browser-level technical protection measures operating as an integrated layered architecture.

Technical Protection

Technical Protection Measures This site employs proprietary technical protection measures (TPMs) to safeguard its content, including browser-level access controls, proprietary typographic rendering, viewport-relative reading zone architecture, invisible content identification systems, and character-level optical frequency modulation. Circumventing, removing, or disabling any technical protection measure is strictly prohibited and may constitute an offence under applicable intellectual property and computer misuse legislation.

Reading Zone Technology Content is rendered dynamically such that only the area of the screen within the active reading zone is displayed in full. Content outside the reading zone is progressively obscured through typographic and visibility controls. The Reading Zone architecture, including its viewport-relative rendering methodology and proprietary typographic degradation system, is the subject of pending patent applications.

Blink Technology Selected rendered characters cycle between visible and non-visible states at variable frequencies, interfering with photographic and video capture of screen content. The Character-Level Optical Frequency Modulation system is the subject of pending patent applications.

⚠ Photosensitivity Notice This site uses flashing and blinking text effects in certain display zones. Individuals with photosensitive epilepsy, visual sensitivity, or related conditions should be aware of this before accessing content. If you experience discomfort, please discontinue use and consult a medical professional. To request a static version of any content, contact C-AO.com directly.
