femke de groot

Femke is an interior architect and artist based in Amsterdam.

The sensory experience of material, texture, colors and contrasts is what she is looking for in her work. She likes the intuitive, the unpredictable, the unexpected. In her abstract work she ‘cooks’ with paint, pigments and other materials and is inspired by nature and rugged landscapes.

naomy dentro

Naomy Dentro. works as an interior architect and autonomous artist as well. A so called self-appointed interior ARTchitect.

I am a thinker and creator who strives to make every space intuitive and unique.  I always try to integrate custom art into every project.

Designing has always been my second nature. As a child there was already the need for making something out of nothing and this has remained a common thread in my life. Being autonomous with an academic education in combination with commercial experience makes me a curious, versatile and commercial designer. As an artist, I make unexpected connections, creating refreshing concepts.

“As a half Antillean woman, I grew up in a mainly white environment. When I found my childhood love for drawing again, I found out that drawing white women was much easier for me. Not like my obvious ethnicity. The portraits are actually a kind of quest for self-identity.”

“The holidays revisited series was originated during the lockdown. We couldn't travel that much anymore. Normally I always take a lot of pictures but now I started drawing these photos, slightly different colors or details. This is what memories do.”

“Faking sunsets has also arisen in the lockdown. Photos taken from my roof terrace or the boat with my iPhone, often from a special angle or different horizon. By changing the colors or by literally adding a fake sunset, I amplify this effect.”

The series Bagatelles: dolls & faces is all made with found plastics, most produced in the last century.

In this day and age when plastic is perceived as "bad", I want to show the beauty of the material. I use a lot of ‘early plastic’ such as celluloid, bakelite and melamine. I also want to give ‘inventions’ such as Tupperware with its beautiful colors ‘a place’ in my work.

henri verhoef

Henri Verhoef is an Amsterdam based image maker whose work evolves around socially constructed ideas about masculinity.

In creating imagery he finds control. His stylized portraiture is known for it’s technical perfection and tremendous eye for detail. Sculpting the faces of his subjects with light, he looks for theatricality combined with stillness, finished off with an artificial gloss.

jason alan swinehammer

Jason Alan Swinehammer studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada.  He graduated with an Interdisciplinary Fine art degree in 2003. Classically trained in drawing and painting, Jason has always searched for non classical ways to make art. For the last 10 years his work is solely produced digitally.  Jason has a distinct style but his themes are constantly in flux. He is a versatile artist with and interesting take on drawing and perception of the world around him. His work has been described as graphic surrealist pop art.

‘I react visually to the world, inside and outside of my head...that is what my art is about....you and me....good and bad...love and hate...evil hidden in all things...beauty found in the ugly.’
